n June 2015, Gainline Africa will host its 4th annual Coaching Tour, taking approx. 10-15 rugby coaches or players to northern Uganda to help facilitate their community development and after-school rugby programs across the region. Tour participants will have the opportunity to experience Ugandan culture at a grassroots level, build relationships with Ugandan students and community leaders through a shared love of rugby and have the opportunity to explore the region through small day excursions and a safari in Murchinson Falls National Park.
As you may or may not already know, Gainline Africa is a sports-for-development charity that uses rugby as a tool to address and access development issues in post-conflict communities, specifically in northern Uganda. By partnering with local rugby communities, Gainline Africa provides after-school rugby programs to post-secondary students. Through these programs and annual coaching tour Gainline Africa works to promote unity and partnership between Canadian and Ugandan rugby players, while educating Canadians about development issues and inspiring their involvement in rugby communities outside of their own.
