The Burlington Centaurs RFC are proud to announce the appointment of Chris Kelly to the role Head Coach for the Senior Men’s Division. After spending two years as Assistant Coach, Chris is a natural fit for the position. He is a World Rugby Level Two trained coach and has previously coached the under 16, 18, and 20 age groups for Burlington. He has also been a member of the coaching staff of Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School, and player/coach for York University’s Rugby Club.
Chris’ rugby career includes playing as a member of the Burlington Centaurs for over 15 years, starting at the under 14 age division. He also represented both the Niagara region and Rugby Ontario both at the Junior and Senior levels winning several provincial and national championships.
Chris’ education includes earning both his Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Sciences, and Athletic Therapy Certificate from York University in Toronto. Chris has also spent the last five years working for Rugby Ontario in roles as Head Therapist with the Senior and Under 19 Men’s teams. Chris is currently working as an Athletic Therapist and Trainer for Elite Performance Center in Burlington.
As the Burlington Centaurs continue to grow and develop quality rugby players, it is important for us to have top quality coaches and staff to facilitate this growth. We are extremely happy to be able to secure a home grown talent such as Coach Kelly for the foreseeable future. 2017 is an exciting year for the Centaurs and we expect big things to come. Stay tuned
