Over the weekend the Burlington Centaurs Rugby Club was involved in the Sherwood Forest Park Spring Clean-Up Green-UP Event organized by the Friends of Sheldon Creek Watershed. The Centaurs along with numerous groups from the community were able to clean up the park and the creek.
Saturday, April 25th the Burlington Centaurs senior men hosted Kent Havoc at Norton Community Park for some pre-season action. The Burlington Centaurs dominated Kent Havoc in the first half with several Centaurs crossing the try line to score. In the spirit of the game the Centaurs provided some players to Kent for the second half which increased the intensity and physicality of the game. The Centaurs continue to improve under the direction of head coach Jon Goldie and assistant coach Chris Kelly to develop and focus on the start of the regular season in May.

The Burlington Centaur Women’s Rugby Team were in Oakville versus their Halton rivals, the Oakville Crusaders. This pre-season game put the Centaurs off-season training skills to the test by playing Oakville who compete in a league above the Centaurs. The Centaur women showed their determination and raised their game to defeat Oakville Crusaders by a score of 36-27. Scoring for the Centaurs were Jordan Orlando (x2), Amber Aquin (x2) and Emily Fretts (X1) .
Open practices continue at Sherwood Forest Park on Tuesday & Thursday evenings for the men and Monday & Thursday evening for the women. This Saturday the Annual Orange vs Blue Intersquad game will be held at 1:00 pm.
