Under 18 Centaurs Rugby Tour- March Break 2025!
We are planning a rugby opportunity of a lifetime for our Under 18 Boys and Girls and now is the time to gauge interest and commitment from our athletes and families. No other sport will offer the great hospitality that the global rugby community does. So in March of 2025 we are planning this opportunity for the next group of athletes!
The initial plan is an 11 day 10 night UK tour with stops in 3 great international cities (London, Cardiff, Edinburgh) and a game of rugby in each of England, Wales and Scotland. We will aim to view a 6 Nations Rugby match, host training sessions with professional rugby teams and add in the UK's great history and tourist attractions along the way. Past UK rugby tours have included stops and tours at the following;
- Tower of London
- London Eye
- Buckingham Palace
- Westminster Abbey
- Boat Tour of the River Thames
- Churchill War Rooms
- Tour of Twickenham Stadium (England's National Rugby Grounds)
- Stonehenge
- Roman Baths
- Walled City of York
- Cadbury Factory Tour
- Cardiff Castle
- Tour of Principality Stadium (Wales National Rugby Grounds)
- Edinburgh Castle
- Tour of Murrayfield Stadium (Scotland's National Rugby Grounds)
- Professional rugby games @ Cardiff Blues, Saracens, Leicester Tigers
- Club Rugby games at local clubs
The list goes on and the final itinerary will be determined at a later date, centering on ticket availability and location of the 6 Nations Rugby Game we hope to attend. We currently intend to have a one directional tour in which we fly to London, England and home from Glasgow, Scotland (or vice versa). In order for the tour to get off the ground we need a minimum of 23 and preferably 25 on each of our boys and girls teams. The tour is open to athletes who are still in high school, including those back for a 5th year.
This is an initial call for interest before we embark on a significant planning and fundraising journey. The anticipated initial cost per athlete is $3000-$3500 but fundraising efforts as a group and individuals can significantly reduce those costs and that is why we need a year to commit to this adventure. If we have 50 athletes attending we would have a tour budget of $150000.00 to $175000.00 and we would set a total fundraising goal of $50000.00. In the past we have had group fundraisers and individual fundraising to reward those who work hard to reduce their costs.
Please complete the below Google Form if you are committed to attending or at the very least, interested in attending pending more information. A final commitment and $500.00 deposit will be required by May 1st, 2024. We will schedule and host in person information sessions for interested athletes/families between now and May 1st.
