Junior & Mini Coaches Information & Police Clearance
To ensure the safety and well-being of our Junior & Mini’s Members along with providing an enjoyable and engaging experience, the Burlington Centaurs mandate that our coaches fulfill requirements as set out by World Rugby, Rugby Canada, and Rugby Ontario. We also encourage our coaches to continuously develop through the National Coaching Certification Program and other coach development opportunities.
Please see the information below outlining the requirements for Junior & Mini’s Coaches. This includes all head and assistant Coaches. All coach certifications, forms or current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Clearance are only considered complete once submitted to the Director of Technical Operations - [email protected]
Requirements for all Junior & Mini’s Coaches:
1) Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Clearance
A current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Clearance (VSSPC) is required for all positions. A VSSPC is valid for three seasons. If you have a Police Clearance dated 2019 or older, it will need updating for the 202 season. Please contact a police station within the Region you reside to apply for your VSSPC. The Burlington Centaurs will reimburse the cost of the VSSPC upon submission with receipt.

2) World Rugby Modules
All coaches must have a current/valid certificate from the following World Rugby Education Modules:
World Rugby – Rugby Ready
World Rugby – Concussion Management for the General Public
World Rugby – Covid 19 - Return to Play Awareness for Coaches & Players
World Rugby – First Aid in Rugby or Valid First Aid Certificate
3) Rowan’s Law
It is a requirement of the Government of Ontario as outlined in Rowan’s Law that all coaches confirm the review of one of the recommended Concussion Awareness Resources.
4) Sportlomo Registration
Registered as a Coach for Burlington Centaurs with Rugby Ontario & Rugby Canada. Please note that if you are also registering as a player or any other role to select a Multi-role registration, and you will only be charged for the highest membership type selected.

Junior & Mini’s Head Coaches:
All Junior & Mini’s Head Coaches must have, as a minimum trained status in NCCP Community Initiation/World Rugby Level 1. The Burlington Centaurs will reimburse the cost of the NCCP Certification Courses upon submission with receipt.
Main Responsibilities:
To be familiar with the Burlington Centaurs RFC and the Rugby Ontario Constitutions and By-Laws, Regulations and Policies. The Head Coach is ultimately accountable for all team activities and management of team officials.
Preparation and submission of team paperwork in accordance with dates as set out in League Regulations, including the completed, signed team roster submitted through SportLomo prior to each league game.
Attendance at all Head Coaches meetings.
